Malik Monk will become a free agent this offseason, but revealed he ‘would love’ to return to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Monk told reporters he really enjoyed his time with the 17-time NBA champions and ‘would love’ to re-sign with the franchise.
The young guard earned just $1.8M this season and is now expected to sign a more lucrative deal. However, he noted a lucrative deal and feeling comfortable in the team will determine where he will play next season.
Malik Monk also referred to how his time with the Lakers helped him elevate his game and improve on both ends.
“Just being an all-around player man, not just focusing on putting the ball in the basket. Trying to rebound, trying getting other guys involved man and just playmaking man.
I think I got more mature, I think I got a more mature game than the last four years so, happy with my performances man but super super-duper mad man that we got put out,” he told media a few days ago.
Malik Monk averaged 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 76 regular season gmes. He and the Lakers now have their sights set on the new season, after being eliminated from the play-in tournament.
