Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are facing elimination, as they trail the Golden State Warriors 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals.
The superstar guard went for 40 points in Game 3, but the Mavs lost for a third straight time in the series (109-100). Doncic was later asked by reporters what Dallas should change ahead of Game 4.
“I think, like I say, the rebounding. We’ve got to be way better. We’ve got to be more physical. It’s really tough with Looney; he’s an unbelievable player. He’s very underrated.
Nobody talks about him. But I think he’s been doing an amazing job, and it’s tough with him. He’s a strong dude, and he helps them a lot.
He’s a great role player, and we’ve got to do a better job boxing him out,” Luka Doncic told media, including Hedgeout.net, afterwards.
Looney has been a key player for Golden State in the playoffs. In Game 3 vs the Mavs, he had 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists.
Game 4 between the Mavericks and the Warriors is on Tuesday. If Dallas wins, it will avoid elimination and will force a Game 5 on Thursday.
