Luka Doncic prepares to face the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals and the Mavericks’ superstar reflected on the defensive plan of his opponents.

“Everybody would play that defense,” Doncic said. “For me, I’ll probably see a couple more double team this series, and that’s fine. We faced double teams the whole season.

The last time Doncic played against the Warriors, he went for 41 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists during a Mavs’ 122-113 victory over Golden State.

“I think we play the best when they double team – four-on-three basketball in the NBA.  We have a lot of great players,” the Mavs’ superstar continued.

Doncic missed three games in the first round series vs the Utah Jazz with a calf injury. He did not seem to lose a step once he had returned, leading Dallas past the Jazz and the Suns.

In the last playoff round vs Phoenix, the Dallas star put up 32.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists in the best of seven series. The Mavericks prevailed with 4-3 advancing to the Western Finals for the first time in 11 years.

When he was asked about the Warriors, the Slovenian superstar had high praise for Draymond Green, who is probably going to spend time trying to limit the Mavs superstar.

“I have so much respect for Draymond,” Doncic said. “Obviously, Klay and Steph are incredible, but I think the key to the Warriors’ team is Draymond.

“He’s just unbelievable, and I really respect him. He impacts the game in every other category.”
