LeBron James plans to play with his son before retirement

LeBron James opened up about the possibility of playing with his son, Bronny, in the NBA.

The “King” said he will do his best to play with his son in his last year in the league. LeBron also made it clear he will sign with the team Bronny is at.

“My last year will be played with my son. Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point,” LeBron James said, via The Athletic.

LeBron James still has one and a half years left in his contract with the Lakers. Last summer, he signed a two-year extension, worth $85,7M. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2023.

Bronny, 17, is currently playing in high school. Given the current NBA rules, he will be eligible for the 2024 NBA Draft. If the league, though, allows players to go directly from high school to the NBA, he could join the league in 2023.

If that happens, it is more than likely that LeBron James will play in the same team with Bronny. That team could be the Lakers. Or even the Cavaliers, as LeBron didn’t rule out the possibiity of returning to Cleveland.
