The Los Angeles Lakers have requested permission to interview the assistant coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, Charles Lee.
The 17-time NBA champions are in search for a new head coach after parting ways with Frank Vogel in April.
They have already interviewed several coaches, including another Bucks’ assistant Darvin Ham. According to GM Rob Pelinka, the Lakers aim to hire a new head coach by the NBA Draft on June 23.

For his part, Lee has interviewed for numerous head coaching jobs during his time as an assistant. Last year, he was a finalist for the head coaching position of both the New Orleans Pelicans and the Washington Wizards.
Charles Lee has been an assistant of Mike Budenholzer for almost eight years now (2014-2022). The two have worked together both in the Atlanta Hawks and the Bucks.
