Based on the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent struggles, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if they moved Russell Westbrook to the bench.
Following the loss to the Clippers on Thursday, head coach Frank Vogel admitted the team is examining all options.
“We’ve talked about everything, yes. We’ve talked about everything,” the veteran coach told reporters.
Frak Vogel didn’t rule out the possibility of Russell Westbrook coming off the bench. However, he refused to explain his thoughts in detail.

“I’m not really gonna get into that. We’ve had discussions, just like the front office has thousands of trade discussions every trade deadline. Most of them don’t come to fruition and that’s where we’re at with Russ.
Having said (that), if that’s the path that’s a better option, we have talked about that. We’ve talked about everything we can do with our team. OK? We’re not there, so I have nothing to add to that,” he added.
Russell Westbrook has been a starter in every Lakers game this season. Since 2009, he has never come off the bench.
Westbrook is averaging 14 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.7 assists in the last 10 games. The Lakers have won only once during that time. They currenty are ninth in the West (27-35) and their playoff presence is in jeopardy.
