Kyrie Irving said the Brooklyn Nets need to have the same mental focus ahead of the play-in tournament.
The All-Star forward wasn’t concerned about the Nets’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks (115-122), but noted mental focus will be key moving forward.
“The mental focus is on a different level. And in order for us to be a great team everybody has to have that same mental focus,” Kyrie Irving told reporters, via Dave Early of ClutchPoints.
Brooklyn superstar went for 31 points (12/32 shooting, 7/14 from beyond the arc) and 6 assists vs the Hawks, while Kevin Durant posted a game-high 55 points (19/28 shooting, 8/10 from three).
The Nets are 10th in the East and tied with the Charlotte Hornets (40-38). They have clinched a play-in tournament spot and will seek to build some momentum in the remaining regular season games.
Kyrie Irving and the Nets will take on the Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers in the final week of the regular season.
