Kyrie Irving is expected to return to the Brooklyn Nets for the final year of his contract, after picking up his player option, worth $36.9M.
Amid all the rumors regarding his future with the Nets, the All-Star guard has his sights set on leading Brooklyn to the championship and proving doubters wrong.
“Multiple sources with knowledge of his decision said Irving wants to prioritize winning a championship next season and show why he’s one of the best players in the league,” Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The superstar guard appeared in only 29 games last season, averaging 27.4 points, 5.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds.
In the 2022/2023 season, the COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted in New York and Kyrie Irving will be eligible to play in most, if not all, of home games next season.
