The New York Knicks are considering all the options ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft. With two available selections at No. 11 and No. 42, the Knicks may consider trading up in the upcoming draft, per Ian Begley on SNY.tv.

Several people in touch with the team last month say New York is open to a trade that would land the club a higher first-round pick. The team finished 37-45 this past season, failing to make the playoffs after being the no.4 seed in the 2020-21 season.

New York has a young core in place headlined by RJ Barrett and other young prospects. However, they could try to add to their talented core, as many teams in the lottery are in “win now” mode.

It’s unclear which teams ahead of the Knicks would consider trading their picks. The Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings could be willing to give up their pick for a win-now piece.

New York is in need of adding guard play this offseason. This could happen either via the NBA Draft or the free agency. Jalen Brunson has been constantly referred to as the Knicks’ top free agent target.

While it’s all speculation at this point, New York has already been linked to Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, if he demands out from Utah at some point. In any case, the Knicks will hope to add more talent in the upcoming offseason.
