Kevin Durant made another stellar performance offensively and the Brooklyn Nets survived a late thriller vs the New York Knicks (107-110).
The two-time NBA champion erupted for 53 points, on 19/37 shooting and 4/13 from beyond the arc. He also had six rebounds and nine assists.
This was the second 50-point game for Kevin Durant this season and eighth in his career. The superstar of the Nets was one point shy of his career-high.
Andre Drummond (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Bruce Brown (15 points) also scored in double figures for the winners.
On the contrary, Julius Randle (26 points), RJ Barrett (24 points) and Evan Fournier (25 points) combined for 75 points for the losing squad.
Brooklyn was in control for the majority of the game and led by as many as 12 in the contest. The Knicks, though, used a 9-0 run late in the fourth to take the lead (103-101). Kevin Durant took over for the Nets in the final seconds and sealed the deal from the free-throw line.
This was the third straight win for the Nets, who improved to 35-33 in the standings. Brooklyn is 2.5 games below the Toronto Raptors for seventh in the East (37-30) and 3.5 games below sixth-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers (38-29).
On the other hand, the Knicks dropped to 28-40 and their presence in the play-in tournament is in jeopardy. New York is five games below 10th-placed Atlanta Hawks (32-34).
Kevin Durant and the Nets are now 3-0 vs the Knicks. The fourth and final meeting between the two sides will take place on April 6 at Madison Square Garden.
