Kevin Durant calls Ja Morant a future Hall of Famer ahead of Nets-Grizzlies

Kevin Durant won’t face Ja Morant in Wednesday’s contest between the Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies. However, Durant praised the All-Star guard calling him pretty much a Hall of Famer in the making.

“When he’s playing,” Durant said Monday via New York Post. “I see two, three, four different Hall of Famers in his game.”

The electric point guard has taken a leap in his third NBA season and became one of the best guards in the league.

These comments from Durant of course came before it was announced that Morant would not play against Brooklyn on Wednesday.  He will be sidelined with knee soreness again after missing the previous game vs Atlanta for the same reason, the team announced.

“From [Allen] Iverson, he might make a [Michael] Jordan-like layup or he might run down the court like a [Russell] Westbrook or [Derrick] Rose,” Durant stated.

“His float game is up there with some of the best that’s ever played.”

The last time, the Nets met Morant, the explosive point guard went off for 36 points in 34 minutes in a Grizzlies’ win on Jan.3.

Morant is averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists per game this season as Grizzlies took the Western Conference by storm having a 49-23 record with 10 games remaining for the end of the regular season.

“I think the sky’s the limit for him. His future is obviously bright,” Durant noted. “He makes everyone better playing — even opponents. It’s about the level you approach that game.”

The Nets will hope to take advantage of Morant’s absence on Wednesday. However, Memphis has showed they are more than just the extraordinaire play of their superstar guard and that’s the reason they are the second-best team in the West.
