Jrue Holiday made three clutch plays in crunch time and the Milwaukee Bucks survived a late thriller vs the Boston Celtics in Game 5 (110-107).
The All-Star guard first hit the three-pointer that tied the game for the reigning champions (105-105). He then blocked Marcus Smart’s two-point attempt and then stole the ball from Smart in the final play to seal the deal for the Bucks.
Holiday flirted with the triple-double with 24 points (9/24 shooting), 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 40 points (16/27 shooting) and 11 boards.
On the other hand, Jayson Tatum (34 points) and Jaylen Brown (26 points) combined for 60 points for the losing squad. Smart added 15 points for Boston, which missed a great chance to re-claim the lead in the series.
The Celtics led for the majority of the night and by as many as 14 early in the fourth (79-93). However, the Bucks erased that deficit and closed the game on an 11-2 run to clinch the victory.
Milwaukee now has the chance to close out the series in Game 6 on Friday. If Boston wins, though, they will even the series again and force a Game 7 on Sunday (May 15).
