Apart from the veteran core, the Warriors are full of young talent going forward after beating the Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. Jordan Poole reflected on the moment and share his thoughts on him, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody playing a role.
Poole had a big role in the Warriors’ 21-0 run in Game 6 of the series vs Boston, while he ended up averaging 17.0 points with shooting splits of 51/39/91 in the playoffs. He was also adding 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds through 22 games in the postseason.
“These guys are able to get a ring in their first year, like the hardest accolade accomplishment there is to get, they got it in their first year and they played a huge role,” Poole said on Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga.
Moody has played a role in the series vs Memphis and Dallas, while Jonathan Kuminga was sporadically used to add length and physicality, as he was handed starter minutes in some games throughout the season.
“Moses came in and he made big plays in the playoffs. JK made big plays in the playoffs and in the season. That’s what I mean, people were ready to step up. We have guys who want to take that moment,” Poole said.
The Warriors’ scoring guard believes this is just the beginning for the young guys in the team’s squad and he and the rest of the core are hungry for more, achieving winning a title so early in their careers.
“I’m going to throw myself in the group with the young guys right now, this is just the beginning. We’re extremely hungry, and now we got a taste of what this is like at a really early age, and really early in our career. I’m excited for them, and they are enjoying it all.”
