Joel Embiid was happy to see the Philadelphia 76ers clinch a playoff spot after the win over the Cleveland Cavaliers (112-108).
The victory secured a spot in the postseason for the Sixers for the fifth straight season. This is the longest playoff streak for Philadelphia since 1998-2003, when they also advanced to the playoffs five times in a row.
For his part, Joel Embiid admitted this has been an impressive achievement, although many people take it for granted.
“It’s cool. I’m sure a lot of people probably take it for granted. But, it’s also you know, what we say what we want to accomplish. So compared to that goal, which is to win a championship, you might sound like this is really nothing.
When you go out before the season and you basically say that the goal is to win a championship, that’s what people look at, but it’s great.
Like I always say, it’s a blessing to be part of the playoffs once again,” Joel Embiid told media, including Hedgeout.net, on Sunday.
Joel Embiid and the Sixers improved to 48-30 and now are fourth in the East, 2.5 games behind conference leaders Miami Heat (51-28).
The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Indiana Pacers twice (road, home), Toronto Raptors (road) and Detroit Pistons (home) in the final week of the regular season.
