Joel Embiid was forced to play through injuries to his thumb and face during the series vs the Miami Heat.
After the elimination of the Philadelphia 76ers (4-2), the superstar big man revealed he will have surgery to repair the damage.
“The last time I checked I definitely needed surgery for the thumb,” Embiid said, via Sixers beat reporter Derek Bodner. However, he added his facial injury (orbital bone fracture) will likely not need surgery.
With a long offseason ahead, Joel Embiid will have time to fully recover and return to top form ahead of the new season.
