Joel Embiid opened up about the thumb injury he suffered prior to Game 4 vs the Toronto Raptors. The superstar of the Philadelphia 76ers played through injury, as his team missed the chance to sweep the series (102-110).

“It’s OK. Obviously, we haven’t done the MRI yet so we gotta see how bad it really is. Like I always say, when I go out there, I’m not really worried about whatever that can happen.

I just wanna take care of whatever I can. Focus on whatever I can focus. It’s painful. In basketball, you need to use your hand a lot,” Embiid told media after Game 4.

The MVP candidate will have an MRI that will show the extent of the injury. However, even if he has to undergo surgery to repair the damage, this will happen in the offseason.

“I want to play. Obviously, I’m gonna listen to whatever they have to say so I would imagine that I would imagine that keep playing and then probably do something after the season,” Joel Embiid added.

The Sixers currently lead the series 3-1 and need one more victory to advance to the Eastern Conference semi-finals. Game 5 will take place at Wells Fargo Center on Monday. If Toronto wins, though, they will force a Game 6 on Thursday, April 28.
