Jazz committed to building team around Donovan Mitchell

The Utah Jazz have no intention whatsoever to trade Donovan Mitchell after sending Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This is what Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports, noting that the Jazz view Mitchell as a cornerstone player and want to build around him.

“Danny Ainge, Justin Zanik, and Utah’s front office, they want to continue to build a roster around Donovan Mitchell.

Certainly, Utah, they have shut down any team who’s called about trying to trade for Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz are committed to moving forward with him as their cornerstone player,” Wojnarowski revealed, via ClutchPoints on Twitter.

Utah acquired five players and four first-round picks as part of the deal with Minnesota, which they could use to land a star player in the offseason. For his part, the All-Star guard has four years and $135M left on his current contract with the Jazz.
