The Utah Jazz aim for a blockbuster trade deal with the New York Knicks for superstar guard Donovan Mitchell. The two franchises have already engaged in talks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Per Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune, the Jazz want to receive the majority of the Knicks’ first-round picks, pick swaps and a handful of players.

The Utah Jazz are looking to acquire a ‘majority’ of New York’s 8 first-round picks, per @andyblarsen Utah is also looking to acquire pick swaps and a combination of Quentin Grimes, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, Miles McBride, and Cam Reddish pic.twitter.com/2EMaq5jEj4 — NBACentral (@TheNBACentral) July 14, 2022

New York currently possesses eight first-round picks, while the players that could be included in the deal are Quentin Grimes, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, Miles McBride, and Cam Reddish, respectively.

Given that they received five players and four first-round picks for Rudy Gobert from the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Jazz now seek a more lucrative package for Mitchell.

Donovan Mitchell joined Utah in 2017 and has been the Jazz’s leader since 2019. Last season, he averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
