Jayson Tatum stressed how important chemistry is for the Boston Celtics amid the franchise’s interest to trade for Kevin Durant.
A few days ago, Tatum addressed the Durant rumors and Boston’s offer for the two-time NBA champion and wasn’t so excited about the team sending key members of the core to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Kevin Durant.
During the weekend, Jayson Tatum referred to how crucial it will be for Boston to keep its core together and help the players improve their chemistry even further.
“We have a great group of guys, guys that play well together, and that we almost won a championship. Went to Game 6. So, when you go through battles and stuff like that with guys, you just become closer. Chemistry is half the battle, I feel like. You can have a great team with great talent and not necessarily jell well together. You guys saw, we figured it out in January and never looked back,” Tatum said Saturday at his annual youth basketball camp in Foxboro, via NBC Sports Boston.

Jayson Tatum once again made it clear he wants to run it back with the same core and lead the Celtics to a second straight NBA championship run.
For their part, the Celtics constructed a package around Jaylen Brown in exchange for Durant, but the Nets asked for more and wanted Marcus Smart to become part of the deal as well. Since then, the two sides haven’t proceeded with negotiations further.
