Jayson Tatum hit the game-winning two-pointer at the buzzer and the Boston Celtics survived Game 1 (114-115) to take a 1-0 series lead over the Brooklyn Nets.

Tatum finished the game with 31 points (9/18 shooting, 8 assists), while three more Celtics players scored 20+ points.

On the other hand, Kyrie Irving had a game-high 39 points for the Nets, with 18 of them coming in the fourth quarter. Kevin Durant added 23 points for the losing squad.

After a hard-fought battle in the first half (61-61), Boston took control in the third and led by as many as 15.

Yet, a 17-2 run early in the fourth helped Brooklyn come back and take the lead (102-98). In a game with 19 lead changes and 12 ties, Jayson Tatum was the one that decided the outcome.

The Celtics now lead the series 1-0, with Game 2 taking place at TD Garden on Wednesday. For their part, the Nets will seek to defeat Boston and “steal” the home-court advantage.
