Boston Celtics addressed the media ahead of the Game 6 of the NBA Finals vs the Golden State Warriors. Jaylen Brown said the Celtics are not afraid of the challenge in a must-win Game 6 in Boston TD Garden.
The Boston wing said his team will have its mentality set with the goal of playing the best basketball possible and force a Game 7. The Celtics will have to appear desperate in order to have a chance for another game in Chase Center.
“We’re looking to give it everything we got. We are not scared. We do not fear the Golden State Warriors. We want to come out and play the best version of basketball that we can,” Brown said.
You wouldn’t expect the Celtics to say anything else, but their confidence carries a bit more weight when they’ve come back from similar deficits already in the playoffs. The Celtics know how to bounce back despite being in the toughest situation.
Down 3-2 to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round after collapsing in Game 5 at home, they won two straight games to stave off elimination. They were down 2-1 in ECF vs Miami to eventually beat them in a crucial Game 7 away from home.
“We’re looking forward to each and every experience. We haven’t backed down from a challenge all season. We look at it as no different now. It’s unfortunate that sometimes those learning curves turn into losses,” Brown said.
“But we wear every experience as a badge of honor. We take everything that we learn into the next game.”
Tatum expressed his confidence claiming the Celtics still have a chance tomorrow to turn the tides and win the series vs the veteran team of the Warriors. Tatum knows that the Cs will give their all Thursday night.
“Just because it is. It’s the first to four. It’s not over with. So as long as it’s not over with, you got a chance.
I think having done it before should give you even more confidence that you can. Not that it’s going to be easy or it’s going to be given to us, but you should be extremely confident as long as you got a chance,” Tatum said.
“We got a chance tomorrow,” Boston’s superstar concluded.
