Jason Kidd calls Lakers ‘family’ after Mavs’ 109-104 win

Earlier this week, Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks rallied past the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena (109-104).

The Mavs endured the comeback of the Lakers in the second half and held on to win the game. Dallas maintained its momentum after the All-Star Break, whereas the Lakers dropped another game.

For Kidd, former Lakers assistant coach, it is tough to see the 2020 NBA champions struggle on both ends. However, the Hall of Famer coach is confident the squad has what it takes to turn things around.

“That’s family over there. We’ve gone through a lot of battles, won a championship. I’ve always wished those guys well.

It’s tough, you know, to see Frank and those guys struggling in the sense of just trying to get healthy, trying to get together, get the chemistry going.

But, if there’s anyone who can get it going it’s Frank and LeBron (James),” Jason Kidd said, via Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Jason Kidd spent a couple of years as an assistant coach with the Lakers and won the 2020 NBA championship. Back in the summer, he left the squad and took over the Mavericks.

Dallas currently is on a three-game winning streak and fifth in the West (38-25). They are two games behind the Utah Jazz (39-22) and 1.5 games ahead of the Denver Nuggets (36-26).

On the other hand, the Lakers have lost four straight games and seven of their last eight. They are ninth in the West (27-35), just one game ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans for the final spot in the play-in tournament (26-36).
