Jalen Brunson left the Dallas Mavericks for the New York Knicks this summer after the NY franchise offer him a lucrative, multi-year contract. Brunson revealed that there was never bad blood between him and his former team.
Despite his decision to leave the Texas franchise, the Mavs expressed their gratitude for what Brunson offered to the team helping Dallas reach the Conference Finals last postseason.
“There’s no bad blood at all for me. No bad blood. I’m gonna root for them, I’m gonna be happy for them, for their success,” Brunson said.

“I don’t think so. I think they all knew it’s business first. I love my time there and I love being part of it. Every time I step on the court, I was playing for those people–my coaches, teammates, everyone in the organization–and gave it my all.
I wanted to be there for the long haul. I thought I was gonna be with Dallas my entire career.”
The 25-year-old guard received a four-year deal worth $104 million contract to play in New York to become the primary playmaker and ball-handler of the Knicks. The NY team has longed search for a starting point guard the last two seasons.
Last season, they added Kemba Walker but injuries did not let the veteran guard play to his ability. They’re hoping to have better luck with Brunson as he was the Knicks’ main focus during the first days of the offseason.
As of now, Jalen Brunson will likely be focused on his upcoming season with the New York Knicks.
