Ja Morant is expected to miss at least the next two weeks with right knee soreness, Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins said Thursday night before the Grizzlies hosted Indiana.
He missed the last three games with knee soreness, after tweaking his knee against Atlanta last Friday. Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins said he will be re-evaluated.
Jenkins said he is expected to make a return before the playoffs. Morant made a huge leap this season, becoming an All-Star for the first time in his career.
The explosive point guard missed 12 games earlier this season with a left knee sprain and sat out the game before Atlanta with back soreness.
Jenkins said there is no structural issue in Morant’s knee and that’s good news for Memphis, who exceeded the odds by being the second-best team in the West.
Even without their superstar, the Grizzlies seem to be fine for now, as they won the last three games after losing to Atlanta. Morant will have the chance to rest and be ready for the postseason.
