Charlotte Hornets star guard LaMelo Ball has decided to change his jersey number ahead of the 2022/23 season.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Ball is officially changing his jersey number from No. 2 to No. 1.

The young guard had a stellar season with the Hornets, averaging 20.1 points, 7.6 assists, and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 38% from beyond the arc. However, he and Charlotte were eliminated in the play-in tournament.
LaMelo Ball will play under Steve Clifford next season, who recently became the new head coach of the Hornets.
