Charlotte Hornets are still searching for a new head coach after firing James Borrego. Terry Stotts is the latest coach to get an interview with the Hornets, per Shams Charania of the Athletic.
In the same report, Sharania suggested Charlotte will again interview Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham for the head coaching job.
Ham “has emerged as a serious candidate” just a couple of days after Mark Stein stated New Orleans Pelicans advisor and veteran head coach Mike D’Antoni was in “strong position” to receive the gig.
With the Bucks recently being knocked out of the playoffs, Ham obviously have more time to meet with teams and think about prospective head coaching jobs. The Lakers are also interested in acquiring Ham’s services.
Terry Stotts is also a candidate for the Lakers head coaching vacancy. Stotts likely has an upper-hand on other candidates, given his success as coach for the small-market Blazers.
Stotts coached a great guard like Damian Lillard for many seasons, and the Hornets are focused on building around young All-Star guard LaMelo Ball.
