The Miami Heat escaped from TD Garden with a big road win over the Boston Celtics (106-98) to avoid the season sweep.
Miami outscored Boston 27-15 in the fourth quarter to claim its first victory over the Celtics this season. The hosts won the series 3-1.
Five players scored in double figures for the winners, with Jimmy Butler leading the way with 24. Kyle Lowry added 23 and Bam Adebayo flirted with the triple-double (17 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists).
Jaylen Brown had a team-high 28 points for the losing squad, while Jayson Tatum added 23. Daniel Theis added 15 off the bench.
The Heat improved to 49-28 in the standings and remained on top of the East, clinching their place in the playoffs. After a season-worst four-game losing streak, Miami has now won two straight.
For their part, the Celtics are on a two-game skid, dropping to 47-30. They are fourth on the table, two games below the Heat.
