Miami Heat are up 2-1 in the Western Conference Finals series despite missing several key players throughout their run. The same goes for the Celtics, who had two players questionable ahead of Game 4 of the series.
The Heat saw their superstar Jimmy Butler going down with a knee injury last game.Butler is listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup, but, he intends to play, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler (knee) intends to play in Game 4 of the ECF against the Boston Celtics, league sources tell @YahooSports. https://t.co/1isMAd5htn — Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes) May 22, 2022
Butler is averaging 28.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.2 steals in these playoffs.
With Boston’s Jayson Tatum (stinger) and Marcus Smart (sprained ankle) also suffering injuries late in Gm 3, the Celtics went from a chance to take control of the series to now trying to avoid losing back-to-back games.
In addition to Tatum and Smart, center Robert Williams III sat out Game 3 with swelling in his surgically repaired left knee. The tough series against Milwaukee and now Miami has taken a toll on the Celtics, who successfully bounce back from losses multiple times this postseason.
Tatum (nerve impingement) is probable for Game 4, with Smart and Williams both listed as questionable. Smart also missed Gm 1 of the series with injury before returning for Game 2 and 3.
The two teams will collide Monday as the Celtics hope to return to Miami for Game 5 with two wins in the series.
