Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem hasn’t made a decision yet on whether he will retire from the NBA after 19 years.
Haslem, a three-time NBA champion, said he will need time to discuss with his family and Heat front office and consider all options before making his decision.
“As usual, I’ll take my time, sit down with the family, Pat, Micky [Arison, the team owner] and talk about what’s next and where it goes.
I want to be playing right now. But ain’t get what I want. I want to still be playing. So I’m not getting what I want in the moment.
So right now it’s time to take a mental break and then figure that out, after that,” Haslem said, via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Despite having a very limited playing time, his veteran presence and experience are very important for the team and especially the young players. Therefore, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he would return for his 20th season with the Heat.
Haslem and Miami got eliminated by the Boston Celtics in Game 7 (3-4) and missed the chance to reach the NBA Finals for the second time in three years.
