Miami Heat stormed past the Atlanta Hawks 91-115 in Game 1 of the first round series Sunday evening. Miami dominated the game from the start and never trailed to take an 1-0 lead in the series.

Duncan Robinson led the winning side with a playoff career-high 27 points as he hit a playoff franchise record eight threes. Jimmy Butler followed with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Trae Young had a disappointing night for the Hawks shooting 1-of-12 from beyond the arc. Danilo Gallinari led Atlanta with 17 points. John Collins, who returned from injury after missing 19 games, added 10 points.

The Heat set the tone by forcing Atlanta into a 1-for-11 start from the field — free throws were the only thing keeping the game close for much of the first half — and Miami took a 59-40 lead into the break.

After three quarters, the Hawks were down by 26 (60-86) with Heat cruising past to victory. Atlanta was playing less than 36 hours after arriving in Miami following its play-in victory at Cleveland on Friday.

Both teams are set to meet again on Tuesday in Miami for Game 2 of the series.
