The Atlanta Hawks dominated the Charlotte Hornets (103-132) and will now take on the Cleveland Cavaliers for the final playoff spot in the East.
With Trae Young leading the way, the Hawks took over from the opening tip and never looked back (23-32). Charlotte tried to turn things around (52-60), but Atlanta outscored the Hornets 24-42 in the third quarter and cruised to the victory.
Six players scored in double figures for the winners, with Young posting a team-high 24 points and 10 assists. On the other hand, LaMelo Ball (26 points) and Terry Rozier (21 points) combined for 47 points for Charlotte.
Following its victory, Atlanta will now clash with the Cavaliers on Friday. The winner of this game will clinch the 8th spot and will go on to face the Miami Heat in the first round. For their part, the Hornets finished 10th and got eliminated.
