The Atlanta Hawks are working towards trading star forward John Collins before the NBA Draft, which will take place on June 23.
Collins wasn’t happy with his role in the team and it seems his stint with the franchise will come to an end soon. Last season, he averaged 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds, with Atlanta getting eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs.
One thing that is certain: the Atlanta Hawks, sources say, are operating with the goal of trading John Collins before Thursday night gets underway. https://t.co/a6TWhJk13S — Jake Fischer (@JakeLFischer) June 22, 2022
Atlanta aims to use its 16th pick in the Draft as part of the trade, planning to add more shot creators to the roster and help Trae Young.
For their part, there are several NBA teams that would be interested in landing a win-now player, like Collins, ahead of the new season.
