Memphis Grizzlies have made a habit of coming back from double-digits deficits in the series vs Minnesota. They did that again in Game 6 114-106 victory that secured their place in the Western Conference semifinals.
Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks each scored 23 points and the Grizzlies rallied yet again to eliminate the Timberwolves. Brandon Clarke added 17 points and 11 rebounds in another stellar effort off the bench.
Memphis has advanced to the next round of the playoffs for the first time in seven years. Anthony Edwards had 30 points for Minnesota. Jaden McDaniels added 24 points off the bench and Karl-Anthony Towns registered 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Minnesota struggled to close out the game yet again after taking a 13-point lead (53-66) early in the third and a 12-point (72-84) advantage with one minute remaining for the end of the third.
The Grizzlies won the fourth quarter by a big margin as the Timberwolves allowed their opponents to make a 40-22 run to close the game out. Minnesota dropped to a 2-6 record in elimination games at home in the history of the franchise.
Memphis set to face the Golden State Warriors Sunday for Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals best-of-seven series.
