Gregg Popovich expected to arrive in Belgrade for EuroLeague Final-4

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will be the special guest of the EuroLeague Final-4 this season. The legendary coach is expected to arrive in Belgrade tonignt, according to MozzartSport.

Three years ago, the 73-year-old coach was a guest of the Basketball Without Borders project in the Serbian capital. This past season, Popovich became the winningest coach in the history of the NBA.

He led the Spurs to the NBA play-in tournament, where they lose to the New Orleans Pelicans. Prior to the last three seasons, San Antonio made the playoffs for 22 consecutive years.

He won five championships with the Spurs coaching European and International legends like Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Popovich will be among the several special guests that will attend the EuroLeague Final-4.

In the Semifinals of the Final Four, the defending champion Anadolu Efes will face Greek giants Olympiacos, and ACB powerhouses FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will fight for a place in the championship game.
