Giannis registers triple-double; Bucks surge past Boston for Game 1 victory

Giannis Antetokounmpo registered his second career triple-double in the playoffs, and the Milwaukee Bucks nabbed a huge Game 1 victory (101-89) over the Boston Celtics. Giannis finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists despite shooting just 9-of-25.
Jrue Holiday had also had a huge contribution with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists along with his trademark defensive play. Bobby Portis followed with 15 points and 11 rebounds to help the Bucks in both ends of the floor.

As for the Celtics, who shot only 33.3 percent from the field, Jayson Tatum was the leading scorer with 21 points. Jaylen Brown had 12 on 4-of-13 shooting and Al Horford added also 12.
Milwaukee took advantage of its great defensive play to create 28 fast-break points and force 18 turnovers. Celtics had only eight points in the open-court, while they were unable to shot the ball efficiently.
Giannis close the first half with eight consecutive points to put the Bucks ahead at half-time with 56-46. The Celtics had a small outburst in the third quarter to close the gap, but, big plays from Jrue Holiday kept the visitors ahead at the end of the quarter.
Bucks opened the fourth quarter with a small 7-2 run to amped up their lead to 15 (87-72). They kept the composure for the rest of the game to get away with the win from the TD Garden.
The series will remain at Boston for Game 2 before the Bucks get Games 3 and 4 in Milwaukee. The two teams will return to TD Garden for Game 2 on Tuesday.
