Giannis on Luka Doncic: “He’s one of the most talented ever”

Giannis Antetokounmpo praised Luka Doncic after his performance vs the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. Doncic put up a majestic 38/15/8 stat line to put Giannis Antetokounmpo and co. away.

After the game, the two-times MVP praised Doncic for his play, claiming that the Mavs’ superstar is one of the most talented players in the league.

“He’s gonna make good decisions. Sometimes you can do everything right, and he will still be able to have a good night. He’s one of the most talented players in the league, and one of the most talented players to ever play the game,” Giannis said in the post game presser.

Antetokounmpo faced several matchups throughout the game as the Mavericks build the well-known “wall” to stop the 2021 Finals MVP from dominating. Giannis finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds on 12-of-22 shooting.

“Obviously, when you play against superstars like Giannis today, you always have extra motivation,” Doncic said, via ESPN. “He’s a champion, a two-time MVP.”

Doncic was everywhere in the offensive end scoring or assisting Dallas’ first 11 points in the fourth quarter. In six career games against the Bucks, he has averaged 26.8 points, 11.3 assists and 9.2 rebounds with three triple-doubles.

The Mavericks bounced back from an unexpected loss at the hands of the Washington Wizards having a strong all-around team performance. Dwight Powell added 22 points and 13 rebounds showcasing his connection with Doncic.

”On the road against the champs, it’s a hard place to win, especially after we had that performance in Washington,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said, via NBA.com. ”This group in the locker room knows they can respond.”

Dallas clinched its place in the playoffs and they could have the home advantage for the first time in 11 years if the win two of their remaining three games against Portland, San Antonio and Detroit.
