Giannis goes for 43 points; Bucks win sixth straight

Giannis Antetokounmpo exploded for 43 points and led the Milwaukee Bucks past the Atlanta Hawks (115-124).

The two-time NBA MVP scored 17 of his 43 points in the first quarter and made another dominant performance. Giannis added 12 rebounds and five assists, while shooting at 68.2% from the field (15/22).

The Bucks took control from the opening tip. They led by double digits for the majority of the night and clinched another home win. For its part, Atlanta came as close as five points (86-91), but came up short in the end.

Giannis and the Bucks improved to 42-25 and extended their winning streak to six games. Milwaukee climbed to second in the East, two games behind the Miami Heat (44-23).

On the other hand, Atlanta fell to 31-34 and has now lost two straight. They are 10th in the standings and tied with the Charlotte Hornets (32-35). The Washington Wizards (29-34) are 11th on the table, a game behind the Hawks for the final play-in tournament spot.

Milwaukee will now begin a four-game road trip to the West, which will tip off on Saturday vs the Golden State Warriors. On the contrary, Atlanta will face the Los Angeles Clippers, entering a three-game homestand.

Despite its loss, Atlanta won the season series vs Giannis and Milwaukee (2-1).
