Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks survived a late thriller over the Boston Celtics (101-103) and took a 2-1 lead in the series.

The Celtics had the chance to tie the game and force overtime after Marcus Smart missed a free throw, with 4.3 seconds to go. But, Al Horford failed to beat the buzzer and his two-pointer didn’t count.

Prior to that, Boston had erased a 14-point third-quarter deficit to take the lead (100-99). Yet, they missed crucial shots in crunch time and the Bucks claimed the victory.

Giannis Antetokounmpo flirted with the triple-double for the winners, with 42 points (16/30 shooting), 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Jrue Holiday added 25 points (11/30 shooting) and 7 boards for the winners.

On the other hand, five Celtics players scored in double figures, with Horford posting an impressive double-double (22 points, 16 rebounds).

The reigning champions now lead the series and have the chance to take a clear advantage in Game 4 on Monday. For its part, Boston will attempt to even the series and re-claim the home-court advantage.
