Frank Vogel is under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, however it is unclear if he will remain with the team long-term.
The Lakers are struggling on both ends and are fighting to remain within the play-in tournament. They have lost seven of their last 10 and six of their last seven.
They are also seven games behind .500 (27-34) and two games ahead of 10th-placed New Orleans Pelicans (25-36).
The veteran coach is under pressure to bring the Lakers back to the winning track. Frank Vogel has received criticism for the team’s results so far in the season.
And being under an one-year contract, Frank Vogel remains on the hot seat. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Lakers even considered firing Vogel in January.

“Vogel’s job security has been in question since he was awarded a one-year contract extension in August, just a year after leading the Lakers to a championship.
In January, Vogel’s job was reportedly in jeopardy, and he continues to endure rampant speculation. Few coaching figures hold optimism Vogel will still be manning the Lakers sideline come 2022-23,” Fischer reports.
Frank Vogel led the Lakers to the 2020 NBA championship. Last season, the 17-time NBA champions couldn’t make it past the first round of the playoffs.
This year, reaching the postseason could be an even more difficult task, as they should win two games to advance. Failing to qualify for the playoffs would certainly lead to Frank Vogel parting ways with the Lakers.
