Frank Vogel on LeBron James: “I don’t know where we’d be without him”

Frank Vogel praised LeBron James for his performance with the Los Angeles Lakers this season. The head coach of the Lakers believes his team wouldn’t even fight for the playoffs without the superstar forward.

“He just attacked the game tonight. Really playing with incredible energy after playing 45 mins last night. I don’t know where we’d be without him,” the veteran coach told reporters about LeBron James after the game vs the Washington Wizards on Saturday.

The four-time NBA champion went for 38 points (16/29 shooting), 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the contest. However, the Lakers lost the game (119-127) and dropped to 30-41.

Despite the loss, it was a historic night for LeBron James, who surpassed Karl Malone for 2nd on the all-time scoring list. The “King” is now trailing only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has 38.387 points.

LeBron James has appeared in 52 games for the Lakers this season. He is averaging 29.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

Despite his impressive numbers, the Lakers have been struggling all season long. They are ninth in the West, just 0.5 games below 10th-placed New Orleans Pelicans (29-41). The two teams will face each other on March 27.

The 17-time NBA champions will likely be in the play-in tournament and will need to win at least one game to reach the postseason. On Monday, the Lakers will end their four-game road trip in Cleveland vs the Cavaliers.
