Golden State Warriors’ veteran star Draymond Green knows one or two things about ejection in the playoffs. Green recorded an emergency podcast to address his flagrant 2 ejection in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal series vs Memphis.

The Defensive Player of the Year candidate attempted to talk through why the referees ejected him for a foul on Brandon Clarke. The Warriors’ veteran did not hesitate to call his ejection a reputation call by the referees.

“Very interesting one. You know, one thing about the foul is, I actually tried to hold [Brandon Clarke] up and well, I wasn’t told anything because I left the court, but guys were told I was ejected for throwing him down, which is very interesting because even when he hit the ground, I still was holding his jersey up,” the forward said on “The Draymond Green Show”.

The Warriors star hopes to see the foul rescinded to a flagrant 1 in the coming days. Green brought up the fact that a flagrant two foul grants two suspension points. That means Green is two points away from a game suspension.

Green is not new to suspensions in the NBA playoffs. In Game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, he was given a flagrant for a foul on LeBron James. The Warriors won that game and took a 3-1 lead, but Green was suspended for Game 5 after he accumulated four flagrant points.

Then, the Warriors lost three straight in a historic collapse vs LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The veteran forward hopes to see the league rescinding the two suspension points.

“My biggest worry moving forward is that gives me two flagrant foul points, and as we know I’ve been ejected for accumulation of flagrant foul points,” Green said. “So I’m hoping that the right thing will happen, and that it will at least get rescinded to a flagrant one.”
