Draymond Green blasts Warriors after disappointing loss to Magic

Golden State Warriors seem unable to find their groove heading in the postseason. Golden State suffered another disappointing loss to the Orlando Magic despite the fact that they had a 14-point lead in the second half.

Draymond Green did not hold back in the post-game presser calling his team’s play “soft and stupid.” The Warriors dropped their third straight contest after Tuesday’s 90-94 loss.

“We’re playing soft. We’re playing stupid. We’re just not playing good basketball and we’re getting punked,” Green said, via NBA on ESPN.

The Orlando Magic are on a rebuilding state having a 20-53 record entering the last few games of the season. Despite the loss, the Warriors maintain a Top-3 spot in the West.

The Warriors scored only 16 points as the Magic out played the visiting team with their physicality. Golden State has been outscored in the final frame in each of its last five games.

“We’re losing a lot of fourth quarters lately. And that’s execution but in order to execute, it requires a certain level of physicality, and we’re not meeting (those requirements),” Green continued.

Golden State has played its last two-and-a-half games without star Stephen Curry, who went down with a sprained foot on Mar. 16 and is expected out for at least two weeks.

They are 0-2 without their superstar, but, the Warriors issues started before that. Since Feb. 10, the Warriors have lost 12 of their last 18.

In the last 15 games, the Warriors a re getting outscored by 20.8 points per 100 possessions in the fourth quarter, having an 121.1 Def Rtg, which is ranked as the worst in the league during that stretch.

“No disrespect to the Orlando Magic, but that’s one of the worst teams in the league, and we can’t match (physicality) with them,” Green added. “So if you can’t match that with them, then you’re definitely not going to do it against a great team.”

The Warriors will have to put a great stretch of performances in the last 10 games of the regular season to re-establish themselves as title contenders.
