It seems Donovan Mitchell didn’t expect Quin Snyder to step down from his position as head coach of the Utah Jazz.

The superstar guard is ‘concerned’ about the team’s future, as Snyder was one of the reasons he decided to sign a supermax contract extension back in 2020.

“Donovan Mitchell is described as unsettled, unnerved and wondering what it means for the franchise’s future. Snyder’s decision to leave Uath has left Mitchell surprised and disappointed,” Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Under Snyder, Mitchell became an elite guard and reached the Western Conference playoffs in each of his five seasons. Mitchell has four years, $135 million left on his contract,  including a player option on the final season.

For their part, the Jazz will start a coaching search immediately, aiming to create a team that will be a title contender next season.
