Doc Rivers was happy to see the Philadelphia 76ers clinch a playoff spot, but noted there is still a long way to go.
The veteran coach said this was just the first step and his team now aims for a deep playoff run and a trip to the NBA Finals.
“I am happy, but that’s the assumption, but you got to do these steps to get to where you want to go.
The first step is getting in; we’re in. The second step is whoever we play and being ready for that,” Doc Rivers told media, including Hedgeout.net, after the win over the Cleveland Cavaliers (112-108).
The win clinched a playoff spot for the Sixers for the fifth straight season. This is the longest playoff streak for Philadelphia since 1998-2003, when they also advanced to the playoffs five times in a row.
