Doc Rivers was happy to see the Philadelphia 76ers defeat the Miami Heat (106-113) without their star duo.
Even though they played without Joel Embiid and James Harden, the Sixers stood tall and clinched a big home win. Thanks to its victory, Philadelphia (44-27) split the season series with the Heat (47-25) at 2-2.
“We work on it a lot. We know, going into the year I’ll say this, with Joel [Embiid] you know he’s gonna miss some games. And I thought last year we weren’t prepared for it until the second half of the year.
This year we work on it every day. What are we gonna do? How are we gonna score? Space the floor. And we work on it every day. They play that dribble weave stuff every day in practice.
And so they’re comfortable when they come in the game to do that. And moving forward, we’ve been doing it with James [Harden] as well.
Think about that same kind of motion with James doing it. It can be pretty good, but you’ve got to give up yourself to do it, and I thought our guys did that today,” Doc Rivers told the media, including Hedgeout.net, afterwards.
Up next, Doc Rivers and the Sixers tip off a three-game road trip. The first stop will be Wednesday vs the Los Angeles Lakers. On the other hand, Miami returns home and will host the Golden State Warriors. Both games will take place on Wednesday.
