Memphis Grizzlies swingman Dillon Brooks was one of the main points of interest during the series vs Warriors in the 2022 playoffs. Brooks was pretty vocal as the Grizzlies put up a fight against a great team of veterans.
The Grizzlies look every bit like a team on a path to an NBA title in the coming years, and that has been the main point since the team’s elimination from the playoffs in the semifinal series vs Golden State.
“They know that we gonna come every single year. We’re young and they’re getting old. I played for my peers to respect. Playing against two of the best shooters in history and going against them is, it’s great for us,” Brooks said in the aftermath of Game 6 loss.
These playoffs ended up being a learning experience for the Grizzlies after eliminating Minnesota in the first round and going against a team with the champions pedigree of the Golden State Warriors in an intense postseason battle.
The Grizzlies surely have potentially the core to dominate the West in the coming years with Ja Morant and a group of players like Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks.
Memphis had their sprinkle of bad luck during the series vs Warriors after losing Morant to injury, while Desmond Bane also faced injury issue during the playoff series. However, Memphis set the tone for what will come next for the team in the upcoming season.
“That’s a group of young guys that are hungry, they are talented, they are athletic. They got it,” Draymond Green said, via NBC Sports.
“You know, it will good to see their progression over these next few years and where they can take it because that’s an incredible young team. You know, they can be special. They can be really special.”
