Phoenix Suns has ruled out Devin Booker for Game 5 of the series vs Pelicans, the team announced (h/t RealGM). He was injured late in the third quarter of the Game 2 loss at Footprint Center.
He had 31 points in the first half of Game 2 and has not seen the court since the injury. The Suns have one win and one loss without Booker.
Cam Johnson stepped in Booker’s place in the starting lineup. Johnson has scored 21 points in 59 minutes on 7-of-19 shooting with six blocks and three assists in two games.
The NBA All-Star has been ruled out indefinitely. He appeared to tweak his right hamstring as he was jumping to challenge a Jaxson Hayes dunk in transition.
The Suns are in need of help, being stuck at 2-2 with the pesty Pelicans. Phoenix got out of the comfort zone without Booker in the Western Conference first-round series.
The Suns will face New Orleans again on Tuesday night in an important game for the future of the series.
