Chicago Bulls guard/forward DeMar DeRozan and Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Luka Doncic have been named the NBA Players of the Month for the month of February.
Doncic has led Dallas to a 7-3 record. The Slovenian superstar had his best month of the 2021-22 season, averaging 34.7 points, 10.3rebounds and 8.8 assists through 10 games.
Doncic had a great month, dropping more than 40 points twice against the Los Angeles Clippers. He scored 30 or more points in seven of Dallas’ 10 February games.
The Mavs are currently fifth in the West with a record of 37-25.
DeMar DeRozan was the best player coming off the Eastern Conference for the month of February. He led the Bulls to an 8-5 mark, while he had one of the best months of his career.
The veteran forward averaged 34.2 points through 13 games, while he added 6.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists. He put up excellent shooting numbers, making 55.3 percent of his field goals, while he shot 43.2 percent from beyond the arc.
He scored 30 or more points in 10 straight games — one shy of tying Michael Jordan’s record in Chicago. DeRozan had a season-high 45 points and logged nine rebounds and seven assists in a 119-108 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Bulls are currently the 2nd seed in the East -only behind Miami- with a 39-23 record.
