Denver had initially signed Cousins to a 10-day deal before making a permanent move. He spent some time with the NBA reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks earlier this season.

Cousins was the fifth overall pick of the 2010 NBA Draft. The Kentucky product is on his 10th season of his career.

He was also named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2015 and 2016. He was a gold medal winner for the United States in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup as well as the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Cousins is holding career averages of 19.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 30.4 minutes per game.

He started his career in Sacramento alongside current Denver’s head coach Michael Malone. He then was moved to the New Orleans Pelicans (2018), before playing for the Warriors, Lakers, Houston and the Clippers the next three seasons.

Cousins will be a nice addition as the back-up center behind Nikola Jokic in Denver. The Nuggets are at 34-25 entering the last part of the regular season.
