Kawhi Leonard is progressing well with his recovery from an ACL injury and is expected to return to action this season.
The superstar guard/forward missed the entire 2021/22 season because of his injury, but has now entered the final stage of his recovery.
For their part, the Los Angeles Clippers have no intention to put any pressure to the two-time NBA champion and want him to be 100% ready upon his return to the floor.
Based on the current timetable, the Clippers want to see Kawhi Leonard be at 100% by early October and play in preseason games.
“Everyone who has been around Leonard this offseason, both with the team and outside the team, have suggested that Leonard is physically ready for next season and is not carrying any mental angst that comes with a return from an ACL surgery. I’d expect Leonard to play in multiple preseason games to help knock off the rust, which will be about 15 months after he underwent surgery in July 2021,” The Athletic’s Law Murray reported.
The lack of any setbacks is the main reason for the Clippers’ excitement about Kawhi Leonard returning on time for the start of the 2022/23 season.
With him and Paul George healthy, the Clippers are expected to return to title contention after a disappointing 2021/22 campaign, where they missed the NBA playoffs.
